Wednesday 15 February

0800 Depart from Botanical Gardens to Manchester Airport

1000 Check in

1310 Depart on Emirates flight EK0018 to Dubai (Airbus A380-800)

Thursday 16 February

0025 (2105 UK time) Land in Dubai

0430 (0130 UK time) Depart on Emirates flight EK0510 to Delhi (Boeing 777-300)

0910 (0340 UK time) Land in Delhi then transfer to accommodation (Kendra Youth Hostel, New Delhi)

Introductory day in New Delhi to include safety training, India Gate, Gandhi’s Smriti, Sikh Temple, Connaught Place

Friday 17 February

Day at St Thomas’ School. Evening visit to Mandir Marg

Saturday 18 February

Travel to Old Delhi, possibly with St Thomas students, to include Chandni Chowk narrow street markets, Red Fort, Mosque, rickshaw safari

Sunday 19 February

Travel to Aravali Eco Village (accommodation in eco-cottages). Local walk and familiarisation. Introduction to ecology, culture, Hindi language etc.

Monday 20 February

Aravali. Visit rural villages and help with subsistence farming. Learn local crafts, song and dance

Tuesday 21 February

Travel to Agra and then back to Delhi

Accommodation at the Kendra Youth Hostel

Day in Agra to see Taj Mahal and the Red Fort, Agra Fort etc

Evening Shatabdi to Delhi

Wednesday 22 February

Day spent in the ISPCK free school in Old Delhi, organising activities for the children

Thursday 23 February

Speciality vocational day to include a choice of: community hospital and/or clinic; Gurgaon IT hub and start up business centre; community work; Indian cuisine with local chef; the High Court with a lawyer, Ministry of Tourism; British High Commission etc.

Friday 24 February

Leisure day, to include craft centre/shopping

Possibly evening with St Thomas’ students

Saturday 25 February

0600 (0130 UK time) Depart Youth Hostel

1035 (0505 UK time) Depart on flight EK511 to Dubai (Boeing 777-300)

1300 (1000 UK time) Arrive Dubai

1440 (1140 UK time) Depart Dubai on flight EK019 (Airbus A380-800)

1835 Arrive Manchester Airport

2100 (approx) Arrive at Botanical Gardens
